Recently, my mom and I gave in and indulged ourselves. We purchased a how-to kit on making spun cotton ornaments! The images seen above is my vintage spun cotton birthday girl! We started with a wire armature and then spun it with cotton. We used tea and walnut dye to give our dolls a vintage look and then hand sewed clothes and added embellishments! Looks like this is going to be my new hobby!
Another message - from Clare. We really did have a good day making these dolls. Here is one made by the Mom... me! She is my winter girl with her wooly scarf and her bouquet of flowers, waiting and hoping for Spring. Just like me! Hope you enjoy seeing what we have come up with. Clare
