The True Meaning of Christmas

If your to-do list is as long as Santa's nice list, you are not alone, however, let's not forget the true meaning of Christmas. After all, we are celebrating, decorating, gifting, gathering, and baking all because our Savior was born! Without Him, we wouldn't even have Christmas!

The Christmas story is one of my favorites! If you have a bible, open it up and read along or go to www.blueletterbible.org and find the following passages to celebrate the birth of Christ! You will be in for an exciting journey as you explore the true meaning of Christmas!

•A Savior King is Promised: Isaiah 7:14; 9:6-7; Jeremiah 23:5; Micah 5:2-5a
•The Angel Visits Mary: Luke 1:26-38
•The Angel Visits Joseph: Matthew 1:18-25
•The trip to Bethlehem and Stable Lodging: Luke 2:1-7
•The Christ Child is Born: Luke 2:6-7
•Angels Visit the Shepherds: Luke 2:8-14
•The Shepherds Visit the Manger: Luke 2:15-18
•The Wise Men Travel to Jerusalem: Matthew 2:1-8
•The Wise Men Worship the Christ Child: Matthew 2:9-12
•The Trip to Egypt: Matthew 2:13-15

Share the Christmas story with loved ones on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day! I found one special verse from each point in the story and copied it onto place cards to share with you. Have each person read aloud as you go around the table. This is a beautiful way to celebrate the true meaning of the word Christmas!
